I loved this program. It made me more aware of when/how money comes into the house and when/how money leaves.

FinLit U National

Expanding on the success of FinLit U Ontario, FinLit U National takes the program to both coasts of Canada. This course is a shorter version (4 weeks) of FinLit U Ontario, with the same premise, and operates to be both culturally and geographically relevant.

As with all current programs, FinLit U National is free for participants and is delivered virtually, via Zoom in live sessions facilitated by an experienced Black financial professional.

FinLit U National is generously supported by TD Ready Commitment.

This course exceeded my expectations and I am so glad I committed to it. As a fairly newcomer to Canada, I had so many grey areas regarding how financial situations work here eg. taxes, investing etc. this program has equipped me with a lot of tools that I will use for quite some time to come. Thank you BMC!!

BizLit U

Navigating personal financial literacy is important, translating it to business and entrepreneurship can be a whole other obstacle course. Requested by FinLit U participants, BizLitU is a 6-week program specifically focused on Black female entrepreneurship.

Participants will receive education & support pertaining to starting, growing, & expanding their businesses. The program touches on the unique barriers faced by Black entrepreneurs. Starting capital, a crowded marketplace, not understanding the lingo and bias against businesses that feature or focus on Black consumers and more.

Funding for BizLit U is provided by ScotiaRise.

My eyes were opened to things I had no idea about. It actually highlighted how the system continues to fail those who do not have access to the knowledge and available resources. I am walking away feeling energized to make changes that will forever change things for my family and future generations.
